Nextiva Call Forwarding

Step 1: Log In to Your Nextiva Admin Portal

  1. Open your web browser and go to the Nextiva login page.
  2. Enter your administrative credentials (username and password) and click “Sign In.”

Step 2: Access the Admin Dashboard

  1. Once logged in, you should be in the Admin dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the “Users” or “Sites” section depending on your interface.

Step 3: Select the User or Group to Forward

  1. If you want to forward calls for a specific user, click on the “Users” tab.
  2. If you want to set up call forwarding for an entire group or the main business number, click on the “Sites” tab and select the site.

Step 4: Navigate to Call Forwarding Settings

  1. For a specific user: Click on the user’s name, then go to the “Call Forwarding” settings under their profile.
  2. For a site or group: Click on the site or group, then look for the “Call Forwarding” settings in the site configuration.

Step 5: Configure Call Forwarding

  1. In the “Call Forwarding” settings, choose the type of call forwarding you want to configure. Typically, this would be “Call Forwarding Always” to forward all incoming calls.
  2. If there are other call forwarding options available, select the one that matches your requirements (e.g., “Call Forwarding Busy,” “Call Forwarding No Answer,” etc.).

Step 6: Enter the Forwarding Number

  1. Enter the external number to which you want to forward calls.
  2. Make sure to enter the number in the correct format, including the area code (e.g., 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX for US numbers).

Step 7: Activate Call Forwarding

  1. Activate the call forwarding feature by toggling the switch or checking the box next to “Call Forwarding Always.”
  2. Save your changes by clicking the “Save” or “Apply” button.

Step 8: Verify Call Forwarding

  1. Make a test call to ensure that calls are being forwarded correctly.
  2. Ensure that the calls are ringing to the external number you have set.

  • Bulk Configuration: If you need to set up call forwarding for multiple users, check if Nextiva offers bulk editing options. This can save time by applying the same settings to multiple accounts at once.
  • Schedules and Policies: As an admin, you may have access to more advanced features like scheduling call forwarding based on time of day or creating call policies. Explore these options if they are relevant to your business needs.
