3CX Call Forwarding

To forward all calls from your business number to an external number using the 3CX VoIP platform, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the 3CX Management Console

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to the 3CX Management Console URL.
  2. Enter your admin credentials to log in.

2. Select the Extension to Forward

  1. In the left-hand menu, click on "Extensions."
  2. Find and select the extension you want to forward calls from.

3. Configure Call Forwarding Rules

  1. Once you've selected the extension, click on the "Forwarding Rules" tab.
  2. You will see several sections such as "Available," "Away," "Do Not Disturb," etc. Configure the forwarding rule for the desired status. Usually, you might want to set this for the "Available" status if you want calls forwarded at all times.

4. Set the Forwarding Number

  1. In the chosen status section (e.g., "Available"), look for the option to forward calls.
  2. Check the option "Forward to External Number."
  3. Enter the external phone number to which you want to forward the calls. Make sure to enter the number in the correct format required by your VoIP provider (e.g., including the country code).

5. Apply and Save Changes

  1. After entering the forwarding number, make sure to click "OK" or "Apply" to save your changes.
  2. Double-check that the settings have been applied correctly.

6. Test the Call Forwarding

  1. To ensure the forwarding is working correctly, call the business number from another phone.
  2. Verify that the call is being forwarded to the external number you specified.

Example of Forwarding Rule Setup

If your business number is +1 555-555-1234 and you want to forward all calls to an external number +1 555-555-5678, here is an example of how the setup might look:

  • In the "Available" status section, check "Forward to External Number."
  • Enter +15555555678 as the external number.
